Amanda & Chris in Mckinney, TX
Amanda and I met thanks to my many clients who have requested photo shoots at the M Group, in the Cotton Mill in Mckinney. Amanda works with and for Misti, the owner of the M Group, and immediately, we both knew God had brought us together to produce beautiful images for her upcoming wedding! Amanda and Chris planned all the intimate details of their day, and I have to say that it was one of the most personal, heartfelt, loving weddings we have ever been part of. Their prep and ceremony took place at the Mckinney Performing Arts Center (we’ve shot a beautiful wedding there once before) and Misti’s husband performed their ceremony. The reception took place at The M Group where they transformed the space into a beautiful vintage and airy space. Chris and Amanda gave us SO much time for photography, that we have one of the largest groups of artistic, planned images we’ve ever had or produced from a wedding. But beyond the details of the day, we felt a real connection with Amanda and Chris. Not just because we share a deep love for our beliefs about Christ and His generous, loving and powerful provision…but also a genuine ability to talk and laugh and enjoy each others company. We look forward to get-togethers and fellowship with these two!
Their vows, their dance, their friends and family, their attention to details that accommodated each and every guest…all spoke so very highly of who these two are, and who they believe in. We were honored to have been chosen to photograph their beautiful and cherished day. Thank you Amanda and Chris, for sharing your light, and this memory with us. Enjoy this four part sneak peek over the course of the next four days!
Special thanks to their vendors who did an exception job..everything was just beautiful:

Cameron & Kate 's Wedding
Cameron & Kate were married in the UK recently and packed their wedding clothes for the honeymoon in Phuket for our photo shoot. They stayed at The Holiday Inn in Patong. It rained a little so we took refuge in the spa and then headed to Kamala Beach which was totally deserted. Kate was so pretty and smiling the whole afternoon. Congratulations to you both!

Wedding Favorites of 2010
Its hard to believe its time for another installments of “last” years favorites but here we are!! And here I am, spending hours trying to decide…so this year, I’m breaking it down. These are just plain favorites…but coming up, there will be bridal and engagement favorites, and the best of all….”wedding moment” favorites. You know, those super amazing captured moments at every wedding that somehow convey just how special that day was to everyone attending, to the couple, the parents….honestly, I love to “set up” shots…but nothing beats the genuine real captured shots. So many venues that we have been to and had the honor of shooting at this year in the Dallas area, and abroad. We have had a blast in 2010, and are even more excited about where 2011 will take us…believe me, there are some exciting images coming your way this year!
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!

Color of Your Wedding Dress
Although white wedding dress has always been very popular, colored wedding dresses are making a comeback in the fashion world with designers embracing bright hues of shimmering pinks, metallics, and bold primary colors in their bridal gown collections. Do you know how to choose the color of your wedding dress? Here are some tips:
* Choose a color that is flattering to your skin tone. For fair skin tones choose couture gowns in ivory, latte or pale pink. For darker skin tones choose silver, bronze or green.
* Choose a color that has cultural significance. For example, in Chinese and Indian cultures red is a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
* If you don’t want a colored wedding gown, but want your dress to reflect your wedding theme, add a hint of colour to your bridal wear with a sash, waistband or pattern.
* If you’re stuck for wedding color ideas, consider the colour themes from other elements of the day–such as your flowers, cake or stationery and match your dress to them.

Choose Wedding Dresses
Most women dream to have an ideal wedding dress for their big days even when they are young girls. Many brides-to-be begin to seek for the wedding dress long time before their wedding dates. How to Make Bridesmaids Happy
It’s your wedding. Although it was an exhausting week, you’re happy. But if you look carefully at your bridesmaids, they are not exulting. It’s your big day and you think they at least should be happy for you, right? Well, they may be happy for you, but not with the bridesmaid dresses you picked. It’s your wedding all right, but that doesn’t mean that you’re the only one who should look beautiful. Your bridesmaids play a big role in the ceremony and they should look fantastic, confident, and oozing with poise. A lot of this depends on the bridesmaid dresses you picked.
Choosing the right bridesmaid dresses is even more important than choosing the wedding photographer and the florist. You’re buying or renting dresses for your bridesmaids who are your bosom friends. When the bride loses sight of the importance of the bridesmaids’ gowns or dresses, things are sure to boomerang on the wedding day.
Well, the bride may delay giving the bridesmaids clear instructions about the purchase of the dresses until her own wedding dress and everything in-between is settled. When the date nears her wedding day, she panics, picks out a design she likes best without consulting the bridesmaids, and sends it all out to them.
When the bridesmaids try them on, the measurements are all wrong and there’s nothing much she can do but rush it to the bridal shop for some alterations. The agony the bridesmaids have to go through just to assemble them for the wedding day can be mind boggling and if they have to wear lumpy dresses.
Of course, they’ll put on a smile, but your wedding won’t be as pleasantly memorable to them as it is to you. They’ll recoil at the thought of what they had to endure. You should remember that your choice of bridesmaid dresses may not necessarily actually look good on your bridesmaids. That’s precisely why you shop for the dresses with your bridesmaids so they can put in their two cents worth.

Tips to Look Good in Photos
Unless you have been professional trained to look good in all photos, at all angles, chances are there are some photos you’d rather hide in your closet. Here are some tips to be photogenic.
1. Heads up
This means literally. Tilt your head slightly upwards, meaning the camera should be just above eye level. You wouldn’t wanna be caught looking down on your wedding day, that’s just negative. And this trick prevents a double chin, which of course you would want to avoid - at all costs.
2. Relax
Most people get too tensed worring about ruining the photo that they are, in fact, spoiling it. Relax, take a deep breath, it’s either in or out! By relaxing your face muscles, it instantly creates a natural glow! Now what beats what?
3. Do not force
If you don’t like smiling (or just had jello spilt on your gown and have no intention to for the next 345seconds), don’t force it. Trust us, you wouldn’t want to leave any trace of artificial expression in a photo. They will haunt you.
4. Upfront
One basic trick is to never stand straight into the camear. It never did anyone good for the past century. Tilt your body to a slight angle, and have your hips twist towards the camera. Reduces red eyes, higher appeal and definitely enhances your feature.
5. Be a child
Look at your old photos from when you were small. Was there any that wasn’t adorable or picture perfect? Our bet is none. That’s because children generally follow the rules of photo taking, that too effortlessly. They are relaxed, sincere with their expressions and playful. So bring out the child in you and it will show in the photos. Bottom line is, if you’re having fun it will show.

Beach Wedding Bridal Bouquets
While brides can choose any flowers they wish for their beach wedding, beach theme wedding bouquets often reflect the colors, textures, and nautical elements of the sea for a beautifully coordinated event. Fortunately, there are many beach wedding flower options suitable for a wide range of different beaches, wedding formalities, and wedding colors.
Tropical Flowers
Tropical blooms in bold, bright colors are perfect for a summer beach wedding. Many tropical flowers are larger and more unique than classic wedding flowers. Choose just one or two unusual blooms, such as this round protea, for a unique and eye-catching beach theme wedding bouquet.
Beach Roses
Rose bridal bouquets are popular choices for all types of weddings. Adding rich foliage to frame the bouquet instead of lighter ferns is a great way to coordinate with a beach theme.
Plumeria Bouquets
Plumeria is a simple, fragrant, and beautiful flower that is often used for beach theme wedding bouquets. Different colors of plumeria blooms can be used for both the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets for matching elegance.
Bridal Lei
Some brides may choose to forgo a bouquet altogether and instead wear a wedding lei coordinated to their wedding colors. Pinning a matching bloom or two into a wedding hair style is a romantic and tropical touch.
Something Blue
Your wedding bouquet can be your “something blue” for a beach wedding, and a rich blue hue and soft, curving blooms will continue the water and waves theme into the wedding decorations. Other options include wrapping a bouquet’s stems with blue satin or ribbon, or adding trailing ribbons to the bouquet.
Calla Lilies
Calla lily bridal bouquets are popular for beach weddings because the soft curves of the flowers mimic the smooth sand and gentle waves. While white is one of the most popular shades, calla lilies are available in a wide range of colors to match any wedding palette.
Wildflowers
Simple wildflower bouquets accented with grains or sea grass are a rustic and colorful option for summer beach weddings. These types of bouquets can be carried by the bride, bridal party, or both.
