Winter Wedding

One of the most forgotten seasons to have a wedding in would have to be winter! However, this is sad, because winter weddings can be some of the best weddings in the world. Today we are going to cover some of the things that you may want to include in your winter wedding. This includes everything from the colors, as well as the flowers, that you may want to have. So let's get started talking about your winter wedding!

As far as colors go for a winter wedding, reds and greens work great. This is something that just goes good with the winter theme anyway. Just be sure not to overdo it with the colors either. After all, if you overdo the colorings, then it is just going to seem more like a holiday oriented day than a wedding, and you do not want that.

Now, when it comes to the flowers that you will want to use on your winter wedding day, you may want to go with red roses. However, things like amaryllis and calla lilies go very nicely as well. However, if you want to, you can step outside the winter wonder box, meaning that you can find different flowers that bloom in the winter time and use those for your wedding. The best way to do that is to look online for these flowers. Right now, winter weddings are seeing a lot of fuller flowers. This would include things like hydrangeas and, of course, soft ranunculuses. No matter what you choose to do with the wedding flowers, tying a little white ribbon around the based of them is a great idea.

Winter wedding invitations are always a lot of fun to send out. After all, since winter weddings are normally held only indoors, they do require a much more formal invitation. Think of something like a ballroom invitation. For such a  formal black tie event, you will want a card that is heavy and has a deep dark color. Normally navy blue and eggplant works great for an invitation. If you do choose to use an eggplant colored invitation you may want to mail them out in a silver envelope. This just gives the decorations that little bit of a classy feel.

For centerpieces at a winter wedding, you are going to want something that is going to make the room both romantic and, of course, something that will give it warmth. The best way to do that is to have centerpieces that have candles in them. This adds that bit of warmth to the centerpiece and adds to the level of love in the air. Of course, something that a lot of people have been doing is heightening the drama with ice carved vases. This is a great way to bring a little of the chilly outdoors inside. Then with the ice vases, you can surround them by votive candles, which should not melt the vases, and your done. This will give the room a very classy, but almost edgy look.

Music that goes great for winter weddings is pretty easy to find as well. You will want some classical piano music playing in the background. This really adds a little something extra to the wedding that you would normally not find. You should have this music playing during dinner to give it that elegant feel. When people are entering the party area, you will want some more up beat music playing. After all, this is when people first see their winter wedding favors waiting for them.

For the cocktail hour, you may want to find some “warm” drinks. Things like hot chocolate or apple cider work great. A lot of people find that saketinis are great things to offer for winter weddings. This includes Japanese rice wine that has some vodka in it as well. This needs to be put in a glass that has some sugar crystals on the rim.

As for the winter wedding cake, just put some red and green ribbons on it. This keeps the cake both traditional while still fitting in with the theme that you have going on. You need a great looking cake to make sure that your wedding is top of the line. Also, remember that you can do some fun things with your cake as well. You do not have to stick with a traditional cake if you do not want to. After all, it is your wedding; you do what you want to.

Overall, winter weddings are a great way to break away from the normal weddings that everyone has. Weddings are a great time to be yourself, and if you love winter, then why not get married in it? Winter weddings are starting to become more popular. However, a lot of people love getting married in the winter, because it's easier to find places to get married. Most people get married in the spring, thus, a lot of great places will be open for winter weddings.
