I like the Dresses

Ball gown wedding dresses are dramatic and carry a special air of romance. Many women choose a ball gown style bridal gown because it harks back to the fairytales they loved as little girls. A ball gown consists of a full skirt which has such a length that it touches the ankles. The ball gown wedding dresses are most preferred for formal weddings. In this style of dresses, the shoulders are cut and the necklines are low. Sometimes, the brides wearing such gowns use gloves or shawls which are manufactured using exotic varieties of fabric.

As its name implies, the a line wedding dresses cut is narrow at the top, cut close to the ribcage, and extends out along the body in the shape of a triangle (or ‘A’) in a smooth, elongated line. It is perhaps the most popular skirt option, as it looks wonderful on a variety of body types. The lines of the skirt are always clean and ungathered. Starting with a close-fitting top, the A-line dress gradually flares out as it goes down the skirt, with the widest part at the bride’s feet.

A number of modern bridal gowns are created using a strapless design. Gowns that feature a strapless design often use a more sturdy material in the bodice and may be boned like a corset. This is an excellent option for women with a small to medium bust size. But women with a bigger chest may need the additional support that straps provide. Many strapless wedding dresses will also feature beadwork or other embellishments to make the bodice sturdier and to accent the cut of the dress.

Bridesmaid Dresses

You should consider your bridesmaids’ preferences in color, cut and style, as well as their body types, when choosing the style of the bridesmaid dresses. Browse through bridal magazines and websites, you will find a variety of styles. You can combine bridesmaids’ body types when you are shopping for bridesmaid dresses.
Tea-Length
Tea-length dresses are fun and flexible in style. Bridesmaids often like tea-length dresses because showing their beautiful legs and the dresses can be worn again in the future, instead of collecting dust in the closet. Many tea-length dresses are made with chiffon and include decorative embellishments, such as floral details near the waistline or neckline or a ribbon sash.
Separates
Separates let a bridesmaid’s personality shine through. Choose separates if your bridesmaids are of varying sizes. When the top is smoothed over the skirt it hides imperfections in the midsection. We suggests selecting vivid colors, but staying away from patterns, as this will detract from the uniformity of the party. If you don’t want the same color for both the top and the skirt, consider pairing a white bodice top with beading in the skirt color. Separates are available in both tea-length and floor-length gowns, as well as in strapless, halter and spaghetti-strap top options.
A-Line
A-line dresses are flattering and hide imperfections. The classic A-line silhouette works for almost all body types because it skirts the waist gently and then flares back out as the skirt falls. This type of dress also can hide flaws in the midsection and hips. The silhouette can be worked into floor-length gowns, tea-length dresses or separates. Almost every wedding dress designer offers bridesmaid dresses in the A-line silhouette.

unique wedding dress

You have tried on about 20 dresses, but you can not choose a prefect one from them. So, why not try to design your unique wedding dress?
1. Try to think all the dress styles you’ve loved in the past. Begin from when you were a small child all the way to now.
2. Be aware of how your figure works. What are your best features? What do you want to accentuate? After all, you want your unique design to be a flattering extension of all that you are.
3. Browse the styles you like from magazines or search on the Internet. Find out those items that have made you think: “I’ve always wanted to wear something like that!”
4. Analyse your pictures. What aspects of each dress do you really like? You don’t want to just replicate what has already been done. You are making something new, unique, and a part of you.
5. Draw your dress on the paper. You may take straps from one dress. The style of the skirt from another. The bust area from another. Just be sure that when you are combining all the aspects you’ll want to have some continuity.
6. Colour the areas of your dress with your preferred colours and textures. Go to fabric shops and get samples and ideas. Create a couple of options if you so desire.
7. Take your design to your dressmaker. Talk through your ideas and how she might bring all your favourite aspects together. Be open to her advice and expertise. Enjoy the process of creating something that is unique.
8. Be happy with your choice and just shine. You are a beautiful bride, after all.

Circle of Promise

You’ve finlly found the one, who deserves nothing but the best of you. It’s time to get that perfect ring for your beautiful bride–a nice diamond ring that sits pretty on her finger, blinding the guests with its sparkles. A wedding ring generally compromises of three parts–setting, metal band and the diamond.
Metal band
That would either be white gold, yellow gold or platinum. Just a note that the higher the karat rating for gold bands, there’s a higher percentage of pure gold in a piece, not only making it richer in colour but softer too. As the karat decreases, other metal elements are added. This will distort the colour to a reddish blue stone. Couples are opting more for a platinum metal band these days. It is the purest, rarest and heaviest precious metal that is not only very soft, but extremely dense.
Diamond
Ah, Known as a girl’s best firend and also highlight of the ring, it is the marvelous diamond. A diamond’s worth is measured by famous 4Cs–Carat, Clarity, Colour and Cut.
Carat is the unit of weight for the diamond. Though you might want a wind-blowingly huge diamond, it does not necessarily mean it will look nice on all women. You might need to consider the slenderness of your bride’s fingers to see if they fit together.
Claritydescribes the purity of a diamond. This is determined by the number, size, nature, and location of the internal and external imperfections.
Colour describes the amount of colour the diamond contains. This ranges from colourless to yellow with slight tints of yellow to brown, blue, green, pink, and red. These fancy colors are uncommon and therefor more valuable.
Cut refers to proportions, finish, symmetry and polish of the diamond. These factors determine the fine and brilliance of a diamond. Yes, quality cutting is the secret behind those spellbinding sparkles.
Setting
A setting is the mountings which attach the diamond to the ring’s band.
Solitaire: Timeless and elegant, solitaire rings remain as a brides’ favourite throughout the years.
The-Stone: A band that focuses not only on a single gem, but one that highlights a row of three matched stones. Each stone representing the past, present and future of a relationship.
Pave: Covering the band with smaller diamonds and a bigger one in the middle, the bling cannot be any more obvious than this.
Bezel: Known for its durability, bezel rings feature metal bands that wrap around a circular diamond to hold it in place.
Of course there are other alternatives, amongest which are the flush setting, bar setting and the chic invisible setting.
Since you’re going to marry this girl, it is expected of you to already know some of her perferences. You do not want to jeopardize your amazing, creative and romantic proposal so always remember to only buy diamonds from recegnized jewelery stores. Happy hunting!

Winter Wedding

One of the most forgotten seasons to have a wedding in would have to be winter! However, this is sad, because winter weddings can be some of the best weddings in the world. Today we are going to cover some of the things that you may want to include in your winter wedding. This includes everything from the colors, as well as the flowers, that you may want to have. So let's get started talking about your winter wedding!

As far as colors go for a winter wedding, reds and greens work great. This is something that just goes good with the winter theme anyway. Just be sure not to overdo it with the colors either. After all, if you overdo the colorings, then it is just going to seem more like a holiday oriented day than a wedding, and you do not want that.

Now, when it comes to the flowers that you will want to use on your winter wedding day, you may want to go with red roses. However, things like amaryllis and calla lilies go very nicely as well. However, if you want to, you can step outside the winter wonder box, meaning that you can find different flowers that bloom in the winter time and use those for your wedding. The best way to do that is to look online for these flowers. Right now, winter weddings are seeing a lot of fuller flowers. This would include things like hydrangeas and, of course, soft ranunculuses. No matter what you choose to do with the wedding flowers, tying a little white ribbon around the based of them is a great idea.

Winter wedding invitations are always a lot of fun to send out. After all, since winter weddings are normally held only indoors, they do require a much more formal invitation. Think of something like a ballroom invitation. For such a  formal black tie event, you will want a card that is heavy and has a deep dark color. Normally navy blue and eggplant works great for an invitation. If you do choose to use an eggplant colored invitation you may want to mail them out in a silver envelope. This just gives the decorations that little bit of a classy feel.

For centerpieces at a winter wedding, you are going to want something that is going to make the room both romantic and, of course, something that will give it warmth. The best way to do that is to have centerpieces that have candles in them. This adds that bit of warmth to the centerpiece and adds to the level of love in the air. Of course, something that a lot of people have been doing is heightening the drama with ice carved vases. This is a great way to bring a little of the chilly outdoors inside. Then with the ice vases, you can surround them by votive candles, which should not melt the vases, and your done. This will give the room a very classy, but almost edgy look.

Music that goes great for winter weddings is pretty easy to find as well. You will want some classical piano music playing in the background. This really adds a little something extra to the wedding that you would normally not find. You should have this music playing during dinner to give it that elegant feel. When people are entering the party area, you will want some more up beat music playing. After all, this is when people first see their winter wedding favors waiting for them.

For the cocktail hour, you may want to find some “warm” drinks. Things like hot chocolate or apple cider work great. A lot of people find that saketinis are great things to offer for winter weddings. This includes Japanese rice wine that has some vodka in it as well. This needs to be put in a glass that has some sugar crystals on the rim.

As for the winter wedding cake, just put some red and green ribbons on it. This keeps the cake both traditional while still fitting in with the theme that you have going on. You need a great looking cake to make sure that your wedding is top of the line. Also, remember that you can do some fun things with your cake as well. You do not have to stick with a traditional cake if you do not want to. After all, it is your wedding; you do what you want to.

Overall, winter weddings are a great way to break away from the normal weddings that everyone has. Weddings are a great time to be yourself, and if you love winter, then why not get married in it? Winter weddings are starting to become more popular. However, a lot of people love getting married in the winter, because it's easier to find places to get married. Most people get married in the spring, thus, a lot of great places will be open for winter weddings.

In Your Big Day

Every bride has her own style of personality and taste. On their big days, they want to create distinctive impressions. Some of them may want to be soft and gentle, while some others probably desire to appeal lovely and fresh. Sexy and feminine are also a hot style chased by lots of young ladies. So how can you be dressed the most sexy and feminine in your wedding ceremony?
Mermaid wedding dresses may be the first thought of the majority of women at the mention of the most sexy style of wedding attires. This kind of dresses has a confirmed upper part, which embrace your upper torso tightly and then flares out above the knee, at the knee, or below the knee for slightly different silhouettes. Your most attractive curves are shown completely by such particular design, namely the contours of the chest, waist and bottom.
Fabrics can help add different senses to mermaid wedding dresses, apart from sex-appear. Light-weight silk or satin constitutes a slip style dress that slightly hugs your body figure. While attention may be drawn to the construction and dramatic shape of the dress if stiff fabrics are used.
However, the mermaid cut is not suitable for each bride. Since the special design of dress is made to hug the body and show every curve, it’s best for slender ladies instead of brides with full figures. Nevertheless there’re still excellent choices for plentiful woman to show their sexy appearance on their wedding days, which are A-line wedding dresses—-a style that flatters almost all kinds of body shapes.
A-line style is a timeless design which will never go outdated. The diverse sorts of necklines and hemlines may assist such chic kind of dress to be sexy. As exposion of skin is regarded as a kind of sex-appear, halter design is the best option for ladies who want to show off their alabaster complexion. By revealing the curves and skin of the back, halter A-line dresses make brides sexy yet elegant. Another kind of skin-revealing design is V-neck, especially the deep plunged V-neck, which may show your stunning bust line and undoubtedly make you sexier. Or, you can choose to show off your beautiful legs by wearing shorter A-line wedding dresses. It’s also an appropriate type for summer beach wedding.
There are lots of wedding gowns available in the current markets. Consider about your figure and the wedding theme as well, and make your best decision.

Fall Wedding

Nothing says great wedding quite like fall weddings. There are so many great things that you can do for fall weddings, and that is why so many people are now choosing them over spring and summer weddings. Today we are going to talk about a few different fall wedding ideas that you may want to use. After you get done reading this, you will see just how great fall weddings are.

First of all, fall weddings are the perfect time to work in some fall classic foods! For example, for your guests you could treat everyone to a caramel apple. In fact, these candy apples make great fall wedding favors for everyone. If you can have them packaged individually and tie a small ribbon around them, you have great fall wedding favors that your guests are truly going to love. Just remember to make some for yourself, because when you are making these, you are going to want to eat some!

If you are having your fall wedding inside, then you will need a way to bring the great smells of fall inside. This is best done with soy candles. The great thing about soy candles is that they come in a lot of great colors. Getting a nice collection of yellow, brown, and burnt orange will make great centerpieces for all of your tables. Some people even like to give out candles as wedding favors as well. Although they cost more to give out than the caramel apples, they do make pretty nice fall wedding favors.

Nothing says wedding quite like chocolate. That is why it's a good idea to have some candy dishes with some chocolate in them. However, since it's a fall wedding, you may want to get these candies in the shape of maple leaves, or even acorns. These kinds of candies can be found online for a pretty low price. You can also give these out as traditional fall wedding favors as well. Some people even like to include a small chocolate candy (wraped of course) in the invitations that they send out. This is just a great way to spice up your fall wedding invitations.

Another sweet way to say thank your guests is with mini maple syrup. You can get great mini maple syrup bottles, and give them to your guests in a bag. Of course, maple syrup by itself is kind of a funny gift, so it's a good idea to include this with other things in a goody bag. Either way, maple syrup really does fit well with the fall theme, so you can use it to stay within your wedding theme.

As for great drinks to have around, apple cider mix screams fall. This is a great thing to have out for people to drink at the after party when the wedding ceremony is over. Just remember that no apple cider drink is complete without cinnamon stirring sticks. People love apple cider, as it reminds them of fall. So what a perfect drink to have out for a fall theme wedding!

Another thing that goes great with fall is pumpkin pie. Not only is this dessert as “fall” as you can get, it's also very good. Pumpkin pie is not that hard to make, so it is perfect for a dessert for your guests. Sure, everyone is going to want some wedding cake, but there is hardly enough to go around. Thus, you have to get some pumpkin pie for those people who have a big sweet tooth.

Other things that you are going to want for your fall theme weddings are things that you will need at all weddings. For example, you are going to need some music, as well as a place to dance. People love to dance at weddings. You will need two types of music, however. First, you are going to need the music that everyone loves to dance to. This is classic wedding music that you can find online. Second, you will need some classical music for when people are eating. This really makes the dinning experience that much better.

Fall weddings are great, and everyone falls in love with them. Just remember to use some of the tips that we talked about above. These can really turn a normal fall wedding into something that is grand. Also, the tips that we talked about are all pretty simple to do and can be done on a budget, which is another plus for most people. Last, but not least, do not do anything in your wedding that you do not want to do. If people are trying to force you to do something, then you need to look at them and say that it is your wedding, and you will do what you want to do. It's only right to do it that way! Although some people do not think that fall weddings are the right way to go, if you think that they are, then that is all that matters.

Wedding Hairstyles

Most brides cherish the opportunity to look stunning for the groom on their wedding day. Selecting 'just the right' bridal veil, dress, gown and accessories should match up with the bride's wedding hair style.

It is but quite natural for you, the bride to want to look your best on your wedding day. You look your best by wearing the best wedding dress, jewelry, hair accessories and of course, one of the best wedding hair styles.
There are many wedding hairstyles for you to choose from for your special day. You have to choose a hairdo that not only compliments your face, but matches your wedding dress as well. There are many magazines you can get ideas for the perfect hairdo from. If you have a regular hairdresser, you could get some ideas from him/her too. If necessary and possible, your hairdresser could also practice the hairstyle on you a few times for perfection.
With your hairdresser practicing different hair styles on you, you will get an idea of which hairdo looks the best on you. If you have always harbored a dream of a particular wedding hair style, you can practice it on you to find out if it matches the shape of your face. This is why you have to start looking for your style long before the wedding so that you can decide which looks best for your face shape. You can then decide if you need to let your hair grow.
There are different wedding hair styles for different types of hair. If you want a wedding hairdo, and you have hair that is rather short, you could reach a presentable style of hair using wedding hair accessories like grips and hairspray. You could consider having a style with light curls or wave. Remember that though your hairdresser is capable of creating miracles, don’t wish for miracles!
One of the most famous wedding hairdos is an up-sweep, or an up-do which can be a French twist, a bun, elaborate braids or a low ponytail. If you have long hair, you could also consider flowing curls. And if you are thinking of wearing your hair down, you could consider pulling a part of your hair off your face, while using wedding hair accessories like an elaborate clip to hold this hair in place at the back of your head.
When choosing your wedding hair style, you also have to think about the headpiece that you intend to wear on your wedding day. It would better to wear your hair down if you intend to wear a long veil or a crown of flowers. If it is a tiara that you are going to wear, your hair looks the best when it is pulled back. Your wedding jewelry also plays an important part in determining your wedding hairdo.
It is better to wear elaborate earrings to draw attention to your face if you wear your hair up. However if you are letting your long hair down, then it is better for you to wear simple earrings and wedding accessories. If you intend to have your hair colored, you should have it colored about a week or two before the wedding so that it looks the best on your wedding day.
Today bobs are the hairstyles that have reached the big screen and most of Hollywood. This is an easy to manage hair style that looks great on anyone as it can be formal or casual, depending on its style. Bobs can be straightened using a sedu iron or curled using a short barreled curling iron. You can have bobs that are bangs or curled at the bottom. It is up to you, and your hairdresser to decide what looks best on your face.
Remember that you will have to wear a style that stays in place for 10 hours which is difficult even for your everyday hairstyle. And when you have a veil shoved in and are dancing all around the dance floor, it will be even more important that your wedding hairstyle stay in place.
Once you have decided on a few wedding hair styles, you have to have a dress rehearsal. Take a test run where you walk around with the new hair to determine its comfort level. There is no need to choose elaborate styles as the better hairstyle is the simpler hair style. For brides that choose to spendd some time in the day spa and the bridal salon, often there is a fashion coordinator who can help you to make sure the do is working. Remember that intricate styles can hurt because of the pins used in the hair.
When choosing your style or hair for the wedding, you will also have to keep the time of day, and the type of wedding in mind. This is because loose wedding hair styles are not right for informal or daytime weddings while up-dos give a more formal and evening look to the wedding.

Diy Wedding

Weddings are a time for joy and love. This also a time to spend a crap ton of money! Well, the good news is that you do not have to when you do DIY Weddings, also known as “do it yourself weddings.” Now, these types of wedding have been gaining a lot of followers over the past few years, and it's pretty easy to see why. Today we are going to talk a little bit more about DIY weddings and why they can save you so much money in the long run.
First of all, weddings cost so much because of all the decorations that you have to buy. Well, the good news is that you can do, do it yourself wedding crafts. The truth of the matter is, there are a ton of great ideas online that you can easily find. Although the decorations will not be professionally made, they will save you a ton of money in the long run.
However, when people think of a DIY wedding, they think mostly of do it yourself wedding invitations. Now, anyone that has had a wedding or has looked into a wedding already knows that wedding invitations can cost a ton of money. This just the way it is. However, DIY wedding invitations are a little bit more in your price range. To do these kinds of wedding invitations, you have two choices. You can either sit there and make a ton of invitations by hand, which could mean making over 100 of them; or you can put your computer to work. Get on you computer, and put your Microsoft Works program to work. You can come up with great little cards, and even add in pictures. After that, you can simply print them off your computer. Sure, you may have to buy some more ink when you run low, but look at the bright side. You still saved a lot of money! If you do not want to use up all of your ink, then simply print one and take it to a place that makes copies.
The next thing that you will want to do for your wedding is the do it yourself wedding centerpieces. Now, there are a ton of different things that you can do for centerpieces, but your best bet is to think of one after you have come up with your theme. For example, if you do a beach theme, then you may want to come up with a way to work in some seashells into the centerpiece. Once again, great ideas can be found online about making great centerpieces. No matter what kind of do it yourself wedding centerpieces you choose to come up with, be sure that you make them simple. You are going to have to make a lot of these, so do not overdo it on the first one.
The best thing about do it yourself weddings is all the money you are going to save on food. We all know that caterers cost a lot of money. We also know that making food for tons of people is out of the question on your wedding day. So what do you do? Well, you ask your friends and family members to bring their favorite dishes. These dishes can be set out in a kind of buffet style so that people can choose what they want. This is going to save you a ton of money, and people are going to like it a lot more. After all, when you hire a caterer they normally only make two main dishes. With a buffet full of great dishes, people can have endless possibilities of what they would like to eat.
When it comes to your wedding music, you can do that yourself as well. All you need is a sound system and some CDs. Making the CDs is normally pretty easy nowadays since so many computers can burn them. So go online to find some songs that you would like included into your wedding, and make your own CD. Talk to some friends and family to find out who has the best surround sound system. This is what you will want to use.
Do it yourself weddings may seem like they take a lot of time and planning, but really they take no more than a normal wedding. Not only that, but these kinds of weddings are going to save you a ton of money, and that is something that everyone can get on board with. So start thinking about doing a do it yourself wedding. You will feel a lot better with how much money you actually leave in your pocket. Just be sure that you clear it with your lover first. Although it is the female's wedding (the guy is just there for the ride), the man should get a say in what he wants in his wedding too. Yes ladies, you have to keep your soon to be husbands' ideas in mind as well. Whether you choose to use them or not is a different story.

Wedding Favors

The history of wedding favors is a long and amazing one. After all, everyone knows what a wedding favor is. If you have ever been a guest at a wedding, you more than likely left with some kind of wedding gift or keepsake at the wedding reception table. This is known as a favor. There are many types of unique wedding favor ideas out there, which can include everything from toasting glasses to special personalized favors with the happy couple's name engraved on it.
Coming up with wedding favor ideas is not like coming up with something like bridal shower ideas. Although they are both related to weddings, they both have two different meanings. Of course, this brings up the question, why are you presented with a gift if you are not the person who is getting married? Well this has to do with the history of how they came to be!
Back in the day (which in this case means many centuries ago), in places like Italy and France, people who were having a wedding would send their guests home with a small gift that was (in that day) called a Bonbonniere. However, it's very important to note that at that time these where not just given out at weddings. They were given out at almost any kind of celebration that you invited people to, like a birthday party. Now, what a Bonbonniere really was, was a favor box that was made out of something like crystal or some kind of stone, and inside you would find great things that were usually made out of sugar. It's very easy to see how wedding favor ideas were derived from these gift wrapped boxes.
So why was the Bonbonniere given out in the first place? Well, things like weddings, back in the day, were considered lucky. The thought was that if the bride and groom would pass out gifts to the guests, it would somehow include them in the luck as well. Back then, the most common type of wedding favors that were given out were actually five pieces of sugar coated almonds.
These almonds were supposed to show luck for wealth, happiness, fertility, health, and a long life. At many weddings this tradition is kept alive as being one of the best wedding favor ideas. You can get little bags of almonds that are now candy coated, kind of like M&M's. I would suggest placing them in cute wedding favor boxes which now come in several different style and colors. They come in all different kinds of colors and are even sometimes used for bridal shower ideas. Candies and small dollar shop items make for great cheap wedding favours and gifts for guests at the reception.
It should come at no shock that in different places of the world there are unique wedding favors. A wedding favor that is given out in some of these places has a lot more meaning behind it than what our wedding favors mean. For example, if you go to a Spanish wedding, you will more than likely leave with a vase filled with orange blossoms. This is very customary and is seen even in the United States today. All in all, there are a lot of different and unique wedding favor ideas out there in the world, and it is cool to try and include some of them in your lives.

Wedding Cakes

There are a lot of important parts that come into play when planning a wedding. You have to find the right place to have the wedding, the right caterers, and we do not even need to cover how important the wedding dress is! However, one thing that normally gets left off the “importance list” until it's too late is the wedding cake. Your wedding cake can really make or break the whole decorating theme that you have set for your wedding. Today we are going to talk about how to find unique wedding cakes. By the end, you will be able to come up with tons of great wedding cake ideas for your wedding.

First of all, you have to break out of the box! Most people think that only elegant, layered cakes can be used for weddings. However, this is not the case. In fact, there is a growing number of people who are using square wedding cakes. This is a growing fad, because it is different and allows people to do more with the cake itself. For example, people love to have pictures iced onto the cake. This can be a picture of the bride and groom or of just about anything. This is a great way to turn normal wedding cakes into personal artistic creations.
If square wedding cakes do not sound like your cup of tea, then you can stick with the normal layer cakes. However, this does not mean that they can not be unique. In fact, there are a lot of different things that you can do with normal cakes. Normally people go about picking out these “unique” wedding cakes in a few different ways. First of all, they can go to caterers and cake designers, and look at blue prints of cakes that they all ready have made up. This is a great way to get an elegant item, but the chances of finding a unique cake are pretty slim. However, we still list it as a way to find unique items, because it does happen from time to time. One of the best way to go about finding a cake for the wedding is, of course, to look online
When it comes to looking online for wedding cakes, there are (yet again) two choices that you are faced with. The first choice is if you want to buy your wedding cake online. More and more companies are starting to offer this method in purchasing a cake. However, the shipping cost on this kind of cake is going to cost about as much as the cake itself. The other way to get these online is just to look for cake designs that you like online. Chances are, when you are looking for cakes online, you are going to come across a few different cake designs that you really want. If you can not afford to have that kind of item shipped to you, then you can simply print off a picture of the cake, and take it to a different designer. Although they may not be able to get it just the way you want, they may be able to get it pretty close. They can also use that cake picture as a guideline to go by. The hard part about doing this is to find a cake designer that will be able to make the masterpiece that you printed off.
Now, if you do not have a lot of extra money to buy a wedding cake, then you may want to consider making it yourself. This is a great way to save money on the wedding. Making wedding cakes is not as hard as you may think. In fact, the main thing that you are going to need is, of course, the cake layer tins. These are tins that come in round little circles and are different sizes. Buy as many as you need to reach the height of the cake that you truly want. From there, it's about like baking a normal dessert. Simply fill up the cake tins with the cake mix of your choice, and stick them in the oven. When they are done you will want to cut of the tops of them, which have likely baked higher than the tin, to make them flat. This allows them to evenly sit on top of each other. Then you can get some normal white frosting and cover the cakes yourself. The cake may not look just like ones you would buy from a store, but the fact remains that it's a good way to have a cake for your wedding and have one without having to spend a ton of money on it.
Wedding cakes are very important when it comes to planning the overall theme and feel of your wedding. Do not wait until the last second to find out where you will be getting your cake from. Doing that can just add more stress to the planning of the wedding itself.

Wedding Music

Wedding music is all a matter of taste. Choosing the right music for the wedding reception or ceremony is crucial to pulling of your event without a hitch!
There are many different aspects to a wedding ceremony and wedding reception which make it complete. The couple needs to consider all parts of the big day in order to ensure that they have everything ready to go. One such item that needs to be decided upon prior to the special occasion is the type of wedding music that will be part of the day. The future bride and groom will need to consider wedding music for both the wedding ceremony and wedding reception.

Wedding Ceremony Music
With regard to the wedding ceremony, there are many different options with regard to wedding music. The first decision which must be made is whether the couple wants live or prerecorded music. If live, they then need to choose from choirs, individual singers or instrumental music. For the couples who would like to have prerecorded music playing, they can choose either vocal or instrumental selections to play throughout the wedding ceremony.
Once the choice of live or prerecorded music is selected, the couple must then determine what musical selections they would like to have played during their ceremony. Some prefer the traditional wedding march while others like jazzier ceremony music. The future bride and groom may also wish to select various hymns to accompany the ceremony itinerary. The individual who is officiating over the ceremony may be able to adequately offer some suggestions with regard to appropriate ceremony music selections.
Wedding Reception Music
Once the ceremony is complete and the newlyweds along with their bridal party and guests move along to the wedding reception, they should find themselves in an establishment which has music playing as well. The main choice which the couple needs to decide upon is whether to have a DJ or live band play at their wedding reception. There are a few considerations when trying to choose between the two.
There are pros and cons to having a DJ play music at the reception. Some of the pros associated with DJs include less expensive fees, greater selection of music and the bride and groom will always know what the music will sound like, as it is prerecorded. Some of the negative aspects which one may find with a DJ is that there is only one individual playing the music, there is a lack of variety in song versions and the DJ may not be as lively as a band.
When considering having a live band play at the reception, it is important to consider some of the positive and negative aspects of doing so. On the bright side, when the couple has a live band play at their reception they will have lively entertainment by the individuals playing the music, there may be more exciting variations to the songs and it provides a more elegant and personal atmosphere to the special day. With regard to potential negative aspects of having a live band, the band members may not sound as good as on their demo tape, they may not have as many musical selections and they will most likely be pricier than renting a DJ would be.
When deciding which music option to choose, it is best to consider individual tastes, financial ability and style of wedding ceremony that is going to be held. This will help the couple to narrow in on their desired wedding music choice.

Wedding Rings

There are so many options to choose from when purchasing wedding bands and rings. These items come in many different colors, styles and materials. For those individuals who do not have set types of wedding rings in mind when entering the jewelry store, they may become a bit overwhelmed. Therefore, there are certain things which the bride and groom should keep in mind when choosing the right engagement ring or wedding ring.
Material Type
Wedding bands come in a wide array of material types. One can choose from gold, platinum, silver and titanium for their desired wedding or engagement ring. Within each material type, there may also be various varieties, i.e. 10k gold, 14k gold, 24k gold and white gold. It is important to have an idea of what material type the individual is looking for to have their ring comprised of as this will help to narrow down the many options that they will be met with at the store. Platinum, titanium and tungsten are also popular ring metals.
Style
Wedding rings also come in various styles. For those individuals who do not wear too much jewelry and prefer to have a subtle band or ring, they can choose a simple style with little or no design on it. If one prefers a ring with lots of pizzazz to it, there are many ornate bands and rings for weddings which will make complete strangers stop on the street to take a look at your ring. Platinum, titanium and tungsten are also popular candidates.
Gemstones
One should also know whether or not they are looking to have any stones inlayed in their wedding rings and bands. Gemstones such as diamonds, tanzanite, sapphire and emeralds are extremely popular ring accents as well as other precious stones - diamond rings always prove an extremely popular choice for obvious reasons! One can also choose from amongst various semi-precious stones if they want their ring to have a little extra something yet not cost a fortune.
Ring Price
Individuals purchasing their wedding band should also have a set price range in mind when choosing their wedding jewelry. This will help them to narrow down the options as well as keep them from purchasing any items which may be out of their price range. Therefore, it is always wise to have a set price in mind for wedding ring purchases - often you can find great discounts in a wedding rings sale from some online stores. There are many websites online which allow you to pre size your ring then request a quote.
Matching Rings or Unique Ones
The couple should also decide prior to embarking on their wedding shopping trip whether or not they wish to purchase matching rings. Some couples like to have the same style of rings whereas others are more comfortable with wearing unique and different jewelry.
Shopping for wedding bands and engagement rings is a fun yet thought-provoking adventure. By having the aforementioned ideas in mind as to what type of wedding ring are desired, the couple will find that their overall shopping trip to the jewelry store will be less overwhelming in the end. It will also help them to purchase items that are in their budget and exactly what they are looking for.

Tell The Love

If you’re on the fence as to whether a destination fete is in the cards, well, we’re about to seriously sway the decision. Snapped by the fabulous Smitten Photography, this Bahamian number is about as beautiful as you can possibly get with a bride that is jaw droppingly gorg (and seriously has the best hair I’ve ever seen which is completely irrelevant) and a groom, NFL player Britton Colquitt, that is absolutely in love. Reason enough to share some serious eye candy with you guys here on SMP. Plus, it’s a wedding that gives proof to the idea that if you find yourself a crazy gorgeous backdrop, the rest will follow. Oh and a fun little tidbit before we set Pinterest on fire…the couple had a tiny guest list and opted to have their reception at a local restaurant in town. So romantic. So so intimate. Love that.

From the Bride…Britton and I are both Tennessee natives and are close to our southern roots but moved to Denver when Britton got a job punting for the Denver Broncos. We fell in love with the mountains of Colorado and spend much of our free time exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park. Britton popped the question there on a snowy rock on December 20th 2010. We quickly decided because of the football season, we would plan our wedding for March. Three months is a narrow window to see a girl’s dream come to fruition! Needless to say, there was much work to be done. Our vision of the perfect wedding combined Britton’s love of the islands and my dream of a traditional elegant wedding. We were amazed to find the jewel that is the One and Only Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. This venue combined our desire to have a sophisticated and unique island wedding with the charm of an exclusive plantation-style country club. We chose the Cloisters in the gardens of the resort for our ceremony. The beautiful ruins are definitely what sold us on this location because they are truly breath-taking and unmatchable. Next, I found a traditional wedding gown designed by Ramona Keveza at Ana Be’ in Denver and had a lace belt custom made by my seamstress to mirror a Monique Lhullieur design. Britton was referred to Astor and Black by a teammate when he asked around about a custom tailor to create a one of a kind linen suit.
We arrived in the Bahamas 4 days prior to the wedding and our guests also got a vacation out of the trip. Everyone had such a great time reuniting and unwinding on the beach the days leading up to the wedding. On the big day, my mom helped me get ready for the ceremony in a private bungalow onsite. It was such a relaxing experience to share with my mother the final moments before the wedding. My something borrowed and blue was a ring passed down to me that day by my mom. Our bridal party consisted of only us, we just felt like that was right for us. And much more romantic. We hired a local Bahamian bishop, Lester Cox, to perform the ceremony and could not have been more thrilled with the authentic island feel he brought to our day. To add to the authenticity of our Bahamian wedding, Francis Henry played Canon in D on the steel drum for the bride’s procession. Guests sipped on key lime pink lemonade as they arrived, and were graciously passed pink champagne after our announcement. With only 30 guests in attendance we decided to have a casual dinner reception dining on local fare in town.
In less than 100 days, with the help of many, Britton and I were able to plan and experience the best day of our life. Immeasurable thanks to Sharon Clark our photographer who documented the day and delivered the most amazing wedding photos we have ever seen! We still have to catch our breath when we look at them.

Happy Wedding In Chicago

A secret garden hidden in the center of Chicago? Alyssa and Mark were on a mission to make it happen. A fantastic place to start was their venue, The Ivy Room, to which they added tons of vintage details: antique books, a vintage typewriter, wooden table numbers, and lace doilies. Even their invitations (the couple designed and made them!) remind me of a secret map. Dawn Roscoe took beautiful photos of their day and truly captured their secret Chicago garden feel!
